A Santa Maria man has pleaded guilty to a charge of voluntary manslaughter in connection to a 2019 shooting. 31-year-old Juan Carlos Hernandez entered the plea on Friday. Prosecutors claim Hernandez shot 33-year-old Jose Alberto Medina several times in front of 805 Tacos. He fled to Mexico before being brought back to face charges. Hernandez faces up to 21 years in state prison when he’s sentenced next month.
