SLO Supervisors Approve Funding For Homeless Database

The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors has approved 3.4 million dollars for a new, centralized homelessness data collecting system. Officials call the new system revolutionary. Currently, area agencies enter the same data about each client into four different databases. The new system will allow up to 16 different agencies to have access to one database. Officials are hopeful it will help track root causes, while bridging gaps and improving outcomes. SLO County has a goal of reducing homelessness by 50 percent by 2027.
