Morro Bay residents could see their garbage bill spike in October. The Morro Bay Garbage Company will mail a letter notifying customers of the possibility of the increase. The rate increase would be broken up into two separate increases beginning in October. Officials say the increas is needed to cover increasing operation costs. If more than 50% of customers submit written protest of the rate increase, it will be canceled — keeping the current rate in place.
