One inmate at the Santa Barbara County Jail Northern Branch in Santa Maria has died. Officials say quick actions and life-saving measures by Jail staff helped save the lives of two other inmates. According to Noozhawk, Officials say all three inmates appeared to have overdosed on an illicit opioid, probably fentanyl. Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown says full criminal and administrative investigations are ongoing.
